March '25 took us to Upper Denby to a beautiful 4/5 bedroom family home in the heart of the village. Our client wanted their 6x6m vaulted and beamed living room ceiling as well as the media wall redecorating. Wall cracks had appeared due to some natural movement as well as the usual wear and tear that you'd expect to see in a busy family home. From a colour pov, we moved away from the Blue Teal and into a softer, fresher pale green hue (F&B Whirlybird 309). Lovely room, beautiful house and great clients!
We've had the pleasure of working in this large family home twice now, starting in the kitchen/ dining/ living space and more recently decorating the first and second floor stairs and landings. The kitchen area required some heavy prep work over the course of 2 days before painting the ceiling and dining area walls. The hallway was less complicated so we managed to finish a day less than planned. We filled, sanded and prepared all walls before adding 2 top coats of a hard wearing scrubbable matt paint in Egyptian Cotton, then introducing some colour by creating a feature wall (F&B Brassica No.271). The stairway and kitchen colours work really well together. Fab clients !
Feb '25 brought us to Hall Bower Lane Huddersfield. A newly renovated hallway, stairs and landing that needed a full painting and decorating service after the plasterers had been in. The work also included refreshing a winding staircase, architraves, the loft hatch plus the upstairs and downstairs cupboards. The wall colour is Farrow & Ball's Parma Gray, the ceiling is a brilliant white matt and on the woodwork we used a satin wood finish to give a more contemporary finish.
August' 24
Part of a larger colour plan for the downstairs of a 1930's recently extended home, the theme incorporated two front aspect reception rooms, both with bay windows. The brief was to add a deeper, more traditional feel to the room without being dark and enclosed. We finally (after much discussion) settled on F&B Light Gray which, like a lot of the F&B colours does not do what it says on the tin from a colour POV and comes up more of a light French brown. The chandelier and ceiling rose were original features that needed to be restored. The end result we think, looks spot on!
July '24
In July of 24 following the end of significant downstairs renovation work, we finally got round to updating our own downstairs WC. We carved the space out of an oversized hallway , new stud walls, plumbing and electrics before skimming. After priming we added a matt top coat in Slipper Satin (F&B colourway). Even with the Victorian tiled affect floor we still felt it lacked a bit of colour so over painted the two end walls in Plum Brandy. Finally we added large skirts and architraves and finished by coating all woodwork in a brilliant white satin before adding a couple of small oak shelves. Decorating time was 2 days including woodwork.
A beautifully finished cottage style kitchen with Italian stone tiles floor, classic cream shaker units complimented by a farmhouse wood effect worktop. The Boston style glass lighting over the peninsular works well against the white/ black metro tiled wall.
We finished in the two days we'd planned, working around the families busy schedule. The walls and woodwork were made good before priming and finally adding the top coats which went on really well and looked great.

Customer review
"Great service from start to finish!! Rob did a consultation before we committed to the work being carried out including price, time and what paint we needed which was spot on so no hidden costs. The prep work was carried out prior to painting and the house was left tidy after each day! The paintwork on the walls, ceilings and woodwork is immaculate with a high quality finish. We will definitely be booking Rob again to do the rest of the house. 5 Star Service".
This was a real labour of love which I was fortunate enough to be asked to work on by the inspiring owners. The ten frames with skirts needed some heavy work, but once stripped back and after days of filling and shaping we were ready to paint. The results were beautiful, giving the stairs and landing a modern yet sympathetic feel in keeping with the age and character of the property.

"Rob has worked on a variety of decorating and renovation projects in our house for 9 weeks. His work is of an exceptional standard and he is a pleasure to have in the house. He arrives on time every morning, works diligently throughout the day and always tidies up before he leaves.
Rob has always kept us fully informed about costs, progress and completion time. Despite the complexities of our property he is always able to find solutions to suit our needs and budget. Rob is booked in to do more work at the end of January and then hopefully throughout the year as we continue to renovate the property with his help. I would always recommend Rob".
